This page is a library of photos from my 2026 Galapagos Islands Photo Safari with Backcountry Journeys. There are more than 9,000 confirmed species in the Galapagos Islands, over 1,500 of which are endemic (unique and found nowhere else on Earth). The Galapagos Islands consist of 127 islands, 18 of which are considered major islands, and only four of which are inhabited. The Galapagos contain three major ecosystem types (Terrestrial, Coastal, and Marine), which are further divided into seven distinct ecological or vegetation zones. This unique zoning is dictated by altitude and moisture levels.
